William A. Lee
CEO & Founder
William Lee is the CEO and founder of W.A. Lee Consulting Group LLC. Mr. Lee has over 36 years of government service and started his career with the Federal Bureau of Prisons in 1995, as a Correctional Officer at FCI Memphis (TN).
He served in positions of increasing responsibility, including Senior Officer Specialist, FCI Memphis; Lieutenant FPC Seymour Johnson (NC); Lieutenant MCC Chicago (IL); Lieutenant FCI Terminal Island (CA); Special Investigative Agent MCC Chicago (IL); Captain FCI Fairton (NJ); Correctional Services Examiner, Program Review Division, Central Office (DC) before being promoted to Core Section Chief for the Program Review Division in March of 2015.
As Core Chief, Mr. Lee oversees the audits, management assessments, and corrective actions of 122 Bureau of Prisons facilities, six regional offices, two staff training centers, 12 contract facilities, and 22 residential reentry management offices.
Moreover, Mr. Lee has not only achieved Subject Matter Expertise (SME) in Correctional Services but also in Human Resource Management, Food Service, Residential Reentry, Correctional Programs, Health Services, UNICOR, Facilities, Religious Services, Psychology, Financial Management, Contract Facility Monitoring, Safety, and Education. Lastly, Mr. Lee has participated in numerous After Actions, Suicide Reconstructions, and Emergency Preparedness Assessments.
Before joining the Bureau of Prisons, Mr. Lee served at the Shelby County Sherriff’s Office, Jail Division, Memphis (TN) from 1994 to 1995, and the United States Marine Corps from 1984 to 1995.

Mr. Lee has experience as a Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) Certified Auditor from 2015 to 2019. He is also a member of the American Correctional Association, the National Association of Blacks in Criminal Justice, and the Disabled Veterans of America.
